WRECKED

A FILM BY GIL DE RAY

Dear Friends

I made this film to celebrate the release of the new novel “WRECKED” by Tony Black.

The book is being published by the newly formed Z Noir, an arm of the AEOS magazine which I have been contributing a regular column to since its beginning at the end of 2024. This is the first of many novels to be published by Z Noir. It will showcase the best writers in Scotland and I’m very proud to be associated with this great new literary movement. The book will be available from all the usual online platforms as well as Waterstones etc.

The film was a real blast to make as I haven’t been doing so much of this since leaving London. Jerry Taylor, who plays the character Gus Dury in the film is a real star and there are already plans being made to make a feature length film along the lines of this short film. And that’s Tony Black himself, being shot for a copy of the novel at the end.

For those interested, the vintage / antique place where we shot the film is called Nae Sae New and it’s in the village of Mauchline in East Ayrshire, hidden away off the main street and definitely worth a visit. Its a hidden gem.

The music featured in the film, I made especially for the film but has inspired the direction of the next Gil De Ray album for sure.

More of that to follow.

In the meantime check out Tony’s new novel and also the latest Aeos magazine.
